This book has been so inspirational, that it has changed my life.
I cannot express the gratitude I have for the words of encouragement I heard in this book. The remarkable story of the struggles Darlene went through during the war, with the amazing faithfulness and gratitude she has for our savior Jesus Christ.

What a privilege to listen to the challenging

Inspiring, compelling and humbling
I was riveted! This is the harrowing true account of a Christian American missionary woman who spent four years in a POW camp in Indonesia during World War II. Through unimaginable suffering her faith was tested and she stood strong by relying on God. As I listened I wondered if my own faith could endure such a test. I am grateful for stories like this of those who have walked in the furnace of fiery trials and come through purified as gold. I would not recommend this for children as there is violence and torture described.

Amazing story!
I have read many stories told in the first person, often it sounds a big braggy. But Darlene’s story was real, raw and I fell in love with her beautiful spirit. This was an excellent story and read excellently as well!!
