Love, Love, Love!!!
16 hours is a really long book and considering I'm in my 40's and this book is supposed to be for teens, I really was not planning on loving this book, I was just looking for something different. It does start off a bit slow, but then it grabs you and you become completely invested in the story and the characters. It's a beautiful story of another world and the descriptive nature of the book makes you feel like you're right there in that amazing place among the fae and the humans, but not too overly descriptive to where you become bored. I literally could not stop listening to this book. One thing I will say is that it is definitely not for 11-13 year olds. There's some pretty provocative sex scenes in this book that I don't think an 11 year old would be ready to hear or even understand. I'm on the second book now which is even better than this one. Haven't slept in days. This is a must listen series!!! Absolutely love it!!

Great story
Would you listen to A Court of Thorns and Roses again? Why?
No . Hated the narrator 's vocal variety. . It was so grating to listen to her vocal variety/ inflection .
What didn’t you like about Jennifer Ikeda’s performance?
She was so monotonous and tended to "drag" her words .Lacked vocal variety and at times she had a weird sing song quality which was so unnatural. I almost gave up the book until I remembered it was a Sarah Maas book. Stopped listening on Audible and completed the book on Kindle as Jennifer Ikeda' voice grated on my nerves. Please do not let her read the sequels. Sarah Maas needs to have Steve West or Fiona Hardingham the narrators of An Ember In Ashes read her sequels . They would do justice to this wonderful book and bring this story to life I will not buy anything from this narrator for sure.

Not a fan of the narrator
I loved the book, but the narration is incredibly dull and lifeless. I appreciate the work the narrator put into producing the audiobook, but her manner of speaking was difficult to listen to for long periods of time.

One of my favorite books of all time.
Honestly.. for me I think it says a lot about a book if you can read it a second time and love it even more than the first time. It’s been about a year since I read it so I remembered the biggest things, but forgot a lot of the smaller details so it was almost new again except I had this feeling of excitement waiting for my favorite parts to come. Personally, I fell in love with Rhys the first time I read the books... like seriously a creepy weird obsession with a fictional character.. anyway, time to reread the second book now. 💚
