Some people are born boring. Some live boring. Some even die boring. Fred managed to do all three, and when he woke up as a vampire, he did so as a boring one. Timid, socially awkward, and plagued by self-esteem issues, Fred has never been the adventurous sort.

Every inch as good as the original unabridged

After hearing lovely 7 books with the same narrator, it's quite unsettling at first to hear the full cast.

I was disappointed when it first began. What's the point of full cast if it's just one guy monologuing with a few extra sound effects? That gets fixed pretty quickly. This series accumulates characters one at a time and lets you get to know one before meeting another. It doesn't take long before it has rich dialog and it's no longer just Fred's monologue.

this would make for a great movie or series adaptation. the voice acting in this was superb.

I heard the 2nd book then this. Now I am addicted with this series.

The story is light and fun, while the performances are superb. It really feels like a movie in your mind.

This was fun!

I like Kirby Heybourne. I like his audiobooks. But this is not an audiobook. It is a radio drama and it is done very well. Graphic Audio was up to their normal, high quality, standards. It is like an abridged version of the book, but without losing anything. I enjoyed the background sounds and music. This is not for people who listen to go to sleep. You won't fall asleep during this. It will keep you awake if you need something to keep your attention and stay alert. The story is 5 star, The production is 5 star. The cast did an outstanding job. This is a great book, too. If you have not read it, please consider the series as told by Kirby. I noticed the second book will be released soon. I'll be buying that as well.

My New Obsession!

A great, random discovery! I didn't know it would turn out so great and that it would become my new series to binge as I drive to and from work! I adore that there are multiple mysteries per book and that it creates its own supernatural world within the human one.

A fun listen

I got this book because the title was funny and I ended up really enjoying it. I like the different cast of characters and the feel they give to the characters. The story is really funny and I had a great time listening to it. Can’t wait to check out the rest of the series!

Pick up and listen friendly due to episodic feel

Graphic Audio version of this is the best format of this book and how it should be experienced.

I read this a long time ago and don't really remember much other then the feeling of it being good junk food, so i purchased it again when I noticed that Graphic Audio did a audiobook version for it. It definetly came back to me as I was going through this a 2nd time but in this really stylish audiobook form.

This was sooo good and felt like watching fun, cozy episodic adult oriented cartoons. It was wild but not overly wild and kept grounded enough to still to be considered cozy, lighthearted fun.

The format of this book was episodic scenes showing the MC and the antics he gets into. It was very pick up and put down friendly, especially with the way graphic audio creates really distinctive voice actors to fit different characters so it's easy to pick out who is who. Graphic Audio also does a terrific job with the sound effects and music that it's super easy to picture what's going on and dedicate half your brain to the book while the other half does errands or chores. The plot or characters never got overly complex enough to really need to be at full attention to follow along when you have the aid of a full production.

I found the characters to be introduced very well and the world building to be done well enough to picture how things work in this universe fairly easily.

Towards the end though I found the episodes to get kinda cheesy and maybe a bit boring/repetitive. I think the book ended at a good time before the novelty wore off.

Definitely getting the rest of the series on Graphic Audio to see what else happens in this series as this was incredibly mindless and a good comfort food.

totally entertaining

I really enjoy this format, it's like a play but for your ears. I like the Fred series. The premise of a boring vampire is super entertaining. I don't think I'd read this as a book, but as a play/radio show format, it's great.

Thought I was just getting another book...

I got a dramatized adaptation & LOVED IT! Good job all around. I’ll look for more of these. I originally purchased because I enjoy this author.
