Too bizarre for someone who loves bizarre

The misdirection was very good. You believe something based on assumptions, however, that is not enough for a full story. Had this been told in the correct order you could have had a mystery. Instead you are left with a very empty feeling because you also develop the wrong allegiance. When the biggest twist hits all the pieces fall together and you have five chapters of why.

A Bit Far Fetched

Without spoilers, the likelihood that two people in the same circle of friends would do the same really drastic thing years & years apart for different motives with different people (I know this makes no sense if you haven't read it) is so far fetched that it just doesn't work. The 1st huge twist was pretty predictable. The author was super obvious about using "the new girl" and "the ex" instead of using both of their names, which was a sure fire tipoff that there was some misdirection going on for the reader's benefit & unfortunately, I was able to figure out the purpose of the misdirection, so the twist was pretty lackluster for me. Basically, I like the author's writing style & will read more from her, despite having some serious nits with this one, because despite the obvious setups & misdirections & plot devices, I was still entertained and enjoyed the read. In the end, though, not many of the characters deserve happy endings, imo.

Keeps you guessing

I liked the fact it took a minute to figure out what was going on. As hard as my brain was working I missed a step in the suspect pool. Good story.

Obsessed with Freida

“Never judge a book by its cover”. I had been putting this book off because the cover is so cheesy but it was soooo good! I read it over two days. Whenever I finish a book by Freida, I crave another another one immediately. The narration was great and the story had such great twists and turns!

Great twist. Story had many holes

I very much enjoyed this book, and once i heard the twist, I was having trouble reconciling some of the earlier parts. It left “the how” in quite a few chapters unanswered. But i still love this author she is one of my favorites.
