would have been better with a different narrator
it took several attempts to get into this book as the narrators voice for Nevada was extremely distracting. however, once I finally got over that, the story was very good.

Good serial killer novel
This was a good police / FBI procedural novel with a little romance on the side. Macy Crow is just back on the job after surviving death previously from injuries sustained in the novel Cut and Run. Macy is paired back up with her ex-lover/boyfriend, Mike Nevada. When the remains of Tobi Turner are found, Macy gets sent to investigate the murder. Macy keeps having dreams of a girl (Cindy) begging for Macy to find her body. With good hunches, lots of research and questions, Macy and Mike start to unravel the details of not only the murder of Tobi, but possibly several other victims of a serial rapist/killer.
This story is told from the viewpoint of Macy and the killer's. It's a race against time to find out who the killer is before another victim is killed. Good plot, action and characters. It shows sometimes you have to look in the past to find answers in the future.

Great read and almost perfect narration..
Another great mystery by Mary Burton and they get better all the time. A rapist/murderer who had been at it for more than ten years, and Macy had been sent from Quantico to solve the case and was given only 5 days to do it, all the while still healing from a hit and run that almost killed her the year before. She would be working with an old lover of her's, Mike Nevada, and they would fall in love this time around.
I’m so glad the description of what was being done to these girls wasn’t too descriptive, except for the strangling then bringing them back again and again. He was an evil creep.
There was sex in this, but it wasn’t too graphic and the F-bomb was used only 4 times.
As to the narration: Hmmm… it was good overall, but Nevada’s voice was used without any emotions whatsoever. He sounded very bored all the time. I didn’t like is voice at all.
