Publisher's summary

Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball - or that Prince Charming would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.

Who was that extraordinary woman? Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other - except perhaps this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid's garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her. Yet if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy tale love?

Enjoyed it.

Another enjoyable Bridgerton story. Thank you Ms. Quinn. Ms. Landor as usual did a great job. She has great range.

More than an offer

Another wonderful book and the Narrator is exceptional. Sophie was born illegitimate and was never acknowledge by her father who was an Earl but lived in is household as his ward!! When he remarried her step-mother could not stand here. A
real Cinderella story! When her father died when she was 14 her step-mother then made her part of the servants. She not only did that but kept her dowry from her. Years later during the Bridgerton Masquerade ball she meets her soul mate but has to run at midnight. She then is thrown out of the house. Benedict has searched months for his mystery woman but to no avail. 2 years later he is at a house party when he rescues a damsel in distress not realizing it was his mystery woman. A beautiful story with an awesome ending. Love the extra epilogue.

Made in Toxic Heaven

The story cleverly sets up like a retelling of Cinderella, but only for the opening. It’s a whole other story beyond that. Benedict maintains the Bridgerton sense of honor, but he is a toxic personality. A charming wreck. He liberally applies sweet, swooning words, before disgustedly dashing his “beloved” to the floor like a teacup if she resists his spell weaving. Mostly his motivations are selfish. Sophie isn’t much better. While life handed her a raw deal, she spends lots of time feeling sorry for herself, lying and being angry. Together they create a toxic cloud that takes too long to clear. I dare say Benedict would not have treated a “lady” with the same course behavior. This series is a close cousin to the bodice ripper genre, so I won’t complain, but I’m wondering if I will spend my precious book credit on the next installment.

Benedict's story is truly Beautiful

Cinderella wished Prince Charming was as charming as Benedict. I absolutely loved this story and I only hope that Netflix, does not ruin this love as they retell this love match.

Too Cinderella-y...

Heart-breaking at times, I even cried a bit, but a happy ending nonetheless. Excellent narration.

Always entertaining read.

The narrator is so talented with her many voices, I simply always find her male. Lives a bit off putting. But, this story is fantastic, do enjoy.

Best One So Far

I loved this book! I believe it is the best Bridgerton book so far in the series. I enjoyed that it was a classic tale with a little twist, making it all the more fun to listen to. this book makes me excited to see season 3 of Bridgerton and to see how this plays out on TV.
