Surprisingly engaging
Honestly, it’s not that common that I find a random sci-fi book or author I’ve never heard of before that good. This, however… the characters are well-developed, the interaction between them is entertaining and believable, and the action is well-considered and communicated. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next book. Thank you, Mr. Robertson.

Good, but not my favorite..
It was good. I did find myself wishing things happened a bit more quickly..
Kind of wished it had gotten a bit more detailed on certain things, and got us a bit more attached to some of the characters.
It was an above average book, and I plan to continue reading the series.

A good book but will be my last.

Awesome
Wow i didn't think i was going to enjoy the story as much as i did, 100% recommend this i just can't wait for book 2 but i do feel like there should have been a chapter or 2 of Ben during his stay at the farm especially since it was kinda like a lawless period also i liked that the MC was not military and just a civilian but i did find kinda strange that tess was understanding of the trauma that ben was going thru since she was 2 weeks out of training and we don't get any backstory so makes no sense to me
