Story
Michael Freeman is a disabled veteran who had just been fired from his mind-numbing cubicle job, which allowed his opportunistic girlfriend to dump him. Now, he only wants to spend some time at his grandfather's mountain cabin so he can unwind, away from the drudgery of daily life and with a cold beer in his hands. Standing in his way is an ancient spaceship with an emotional AI, nanites that have invaded his body, an international crime syndicate, a suicidal FBI agent on a vigilante mission, terrorists . . . and that's just the beginning.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Twenty-seven years is a long time unless you are trying to save the world. Nick was enjoying a late fall day, happily skipping his English class, when he was interrupted by a little silver ball. A ball that not only spoke, but claimed to be an alien artificial intelligence sent to warn humanity that a xenophobic alien race was on its way to wipe out every man, woman, and child on the Earth. The catch: They would arrive in 27 years.

Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

Nic Haydock, “Nac” to his friends, because, as they said, saying he had a knack for fixing and improving mechanical devices was the understatement of all time. After spending 10 years on Titan where he went through rehab and attended college, he was now returning home to Conclave Station. Reuniting with his lifelong friends - Mal, a computer genius, and Jazz, a natural-born pilot, he started a mining and shipping business. Quicker is a near-future SciFi/Thriller whose young heroine, Ell Donsaii, is an intrepid athletic phenom who reminds one of David Weber's Honor Harrington. Like Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Ell is also a mathematical genius who, instead of counting sheep, works on her own theory of quantum mechanics to help her drift off to sleep. At once shy and concerned about her social skills, yet well loved by those around her, she finds herself at the center of a terrorist plot at the Olympics.

Aliens ripped a hole above Earth, arriving with a massive space station. I sorta figured we'd be enslaved to fight in their wars or exterminated for our resources. Nope. Publisher's summary
What would you do if you found a spaceship? Would you call the government, would you pretend you never saw it, or would you keep it a secret? What would you do with it? Use it to gallivant around the galaxy, conquer Earth, get filthy rich, or try to improve life on Earth? Listen along and find out how Marc works to convert Earth into a spacefaring world capable of defending itself and of being united as it meets the other civilizations in the galaxy. He and his brother start planning their next steps, but the one they don’t know how to prepare for is the arrival of Marc’s 12-year-old daughter. She comes to spend the summer with her father. She’s very smart and extremely curious.
Marc and his crew need to accomplish all this without tipping off the US government and before the Paraxeans come looking for their spaceship. But they have help, the ship’s AI is on their side, and she’s smart.
Starship Sakira is the first book in the exciting new adventure series Delphi in Space.

People love easily. Look at most of your relatives or coworkers. How lovable are they? Really? Yet most have mates and children. The vast majority are still invited to family gatherings and their relatives will speak to them. Many have pets to which they are devoted. Some even call them their fur-babies. Is your dog or cat or parakeet property or family? Not in law but in your heart? Can a pet really love you back? Or is it a different affection? Are you not kind to those who feed and shelter you? But what if your dog could talk back? Would your cat speak to you kindly?

Story
In the year 3152, humanity is at war with three species who suppress our existence. While one is more ruthless than the others, our species is viewed as an unstable threat to the galactic balance. Resources are finite, battle is ubiquitous, and the enemies of Earth are unrelenting. The average human is born to fight for the species’ survival, deprived of a normal life so that one day a future generation may know peace. The expansions of Alpha Centauri are under siege while the Wolf System is down to just a few outposts. Not all is lost, though.

Great story
However, narrator sounds stilted, even a slight English accent in some places, which is inconsistent with the story.

This title should be categorized “for teenagers “
This series is juvenile. I would have probably liked it when I was 14. It also places the USA as the bad guy, at least in the early stages. That may have changed later in the series after I quit reading. I didn’t know that it would bother me until I starting to read this series. I guess I just want my country to be the good guys.

Wow!! I’m so glad I discovered this book
What a wonderful start to what promises to be a thrilling, imaginative space fantasy. I had never heard of this author or this series until I stumbled upon it in audible.. what a wonderful surprise to discover another great science fiction series. The last time I felt like this was when I first read the works of Joel Shepherd. anyway, this is an amazing story with characters that you grow to care about, An intriguing premise, an exciting storyline founded only by the authors, seemingly limitless imagination. I downloaded the second book of the series before I finishedthis one as I didn’t want to waste a moment continuing the story.. Look no further for great Science Fiction just buy this book and get to reading and enjoyinga fun exciting and wild ride. Oh, and by the way, I read in some of the reviews criticisms about the narrator.. let me setthis issue to rest— I absolutely love the narration. Her voice matched perfectly the story and the characters, especially the AI named Addie, listening to her smooth velvet narration was as comforting and enjoyable as a cup of organic hot chocolate sipped by a glowing fireplace during a far northern blizzard. I’m sorry, but I’ve got to go. I have to start the second book now, right now! Peace and good reads to you fellow reader

Needs a narrator
The story is an enjoyable light read for most sci-fy fans. However, the author needs to find a narrator who actually knows how to do the job. I’m usually more forgiving of narrators than this, but she sounds worse then a 10 year old reading Dr Souse. All the characters have the exact same voice. The only accent tried (and utterly failed at) was the Russian spy in book 2, all others use a Canadian/central northwestern accent... even though they are in Hawaii, Portugal, Florida, the Caribbean, and the Cook Islands. Oh, and the main characters are from Boston, one of the more distinctive accents in the US. Often, never mind differentiating between characters, there is no difference between dialogue and narration.

A great start in this series.
A very calm sounding AI computer. A very careful Capton and his brother. The starship is well armed with wepons and knowledge. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Great Start B.
It's a good story, but the reader needs to change her acting voice a lot more. The AI is getting more human so less computer. Overall though it's a good good start. Can't wait for Delph City.

Excellent Book!
Really enjoyed this book and have even read it over a few times. The narrator did a good job of making slight differences to the voices, enough to distinguish who’s talking. Story was great, varied and interesting. Loved it!
