Story
My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

With a name like Quinn Calahan, I sounded as Irish as a leprechaun dancing a jig on a four leafed clover, but the truth was, I’d never been closer to the emerald isle than drinking green beer at the St Patrick’s day street party in Boston until I messed up so badly I had to leave the US. I was offered a job in a tiny village in Ireland that no one’s ever heard of. And I think that was the point in sending me there.

Publisher's summary
Fans of Amanda Flower and Heather Blake will delight in this latest mystery in the Witch City series, featuring Lee Barrett, program director for Salem, Massachusetts's, local station, WICH-TV, and a cast of colorful characters and sleuthing helpers—including her detective sergeant husband, and a clairvoyant cat, O'Ryan.
Just married, Lee and her husband, Detective Sergeant Pete Mondello, are settling into their new home when Lee is dubbed WICH-TV's new "Historical Documentary Chief Executive." Her first subject is the brand-new Salem International Museum, slated to be a location for traveling blockbuster exhibits, starting with "Seafaring New England." From research to collecting artifacts of Salem's long-ago days as a shipping capital, the project is a challenge—but when the driver of a truckload of antiquities turns up dead under a pile of fall leaves, it's not quite the kind of challenge Lee expected . . .
Soon, Lee and Pete are dredging up clues along with a hardy crew of helpers, including Lee's librarian aunt, Ibby, Lee's best friend and practicing witch, River North—and of course the clairvoyant cat, O'Ryan. But when a ship model in the exhibit's collection appears to be haunted, Lee will have to dive into her own treasure trove of psychic gifts before a killer comes to the surface to strike again . . .

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Jimmy was a wealthy racehorse owner, known far and wide as The Dancing Man. In a town like Dingle, everyone knows a little something about everyone else. But dig a bit deeper, and there’s always much more to find.

Twisted plot
Along with other books by this author, she tells a great story, however, this one didn’t quite grab me like her previous stories. Still very entertaining though.

Another great Witch City Mystery
I was happy that this storyline is continuing. I liked the mystery and the resolution. All the characters are great. Fantastic writing. Personal preferences: I did finally realize that one of the things that I believe wasn't working as well is that the narrator tends to make the characters sound annoyed frequently. If I were reading the book myself instead of the audiobook, some of the lines might have been just comments and maybe they weren't meant to sound like the character was annoyed. I am also still bummed about Lee's gift. She still doesn't like it. I think her "gift" only appeared once or twice in this book. And River was hardly in it (another character I love). So there wasn't as much paranormal as I would have liked. I still love these books and will continue the series. They are worth getting.
