Story
Jeff Dolan always wanted to be an astronaut. After helping a private space company build a ship that can travel to Saturn's largest moon in five months, he gets his chance. Shortly after launch, a devastating malfunction forces Jeff and the crew to make a choice: continue to Titan or go back home. As the truth about their mission unravels, one thing is clear: Someone on Earth knew about the system flaw and covered it up. Yet surviving the journey isn't the crew's only concern. Even if they make it to Titan, they will face another problem: Something is already there.

Story
Amahle is a Light Chaser—one of a number of explorers, who travel the universe alone (except for their onboard AI), trading trinkets for life stories. But when she listens to the stories sent down through the ages, she hears the same voice talking directly to her from different times and on different worlds. She comes to understand that something terrible is happening, and only she is in a position to do anything about it. And it will cost everything to put it right.

Story
Erik Tarverro is a skilled blacksmith, a better swordsman—and hated for his mixed aeradi parentage. Denied mastery of his craft in the human city he grew up in, he accepts a risky contract from a dangerous stranger. With new enemies at his heels, he leaps at the chance to join his father's people in the sky city of Newport. Despite his human blood, he finds his place among the aeradi: heir to an ancient noble family. But Erik's enemies will have blood, and the peace between his people and the Draconan dragon riders is like a powder keg. All it would take is one spark.

It's not as great as you'd think, living in a tourist town that's known as "the most magical place in America". Same boring high school, just twice as many monsters under the bridges and rival Families killing each other for power. I try to keep out of it. I've got my mom's bloodiron sword and my slightly illegal home in the basement of the municipal library. And a couple of Talents I try to keep quiet, including very light fingers and a way with a lock pick.

The mark appeared while I slept and can’t be ignored. I must present myself to the consulate, and from there, I don’t know what happens. While I’ve been taught the mark is an honor, I have no idea what it means. Questioning isn’t encouraged. I must obey. My change in status exposes me to a violent side of society that I never suspected. Brings me to a strange and wondrous place known as the "surface", where I am immersed in a different way of living. I discover pleasure. I am involved in intrigue and learn about lies and different perspectives of the truth.

An impossibly vast and ancient artificial structure lies below, hidden from the universe under a façade of cratered stone. SCARAB arrived on Tantalus 13 two years ago. But when the Council demands she be bonded to a Shadow in order to be allowed to make the journey, things get interesting. Shadows are exceptional guides and fighters, but Elana is something more - she has the gift of the Blue Sight. As the two women race against time to prevent an all-out intergalactic war, they become erotically entangled, complicating both their lives and putting their mission in danger.

Story
In the beginning, the gods destroyed the world. Five hundred years later, things haven’t gotten much better for humans. The demigods that were left behind to guard over humanity have been using them as fodder for an endless civil war between themselves, and the humans just go on dutifully slaughtering each other, battle after battle. It’s not all bad, though. Perry McGown makes his living off those bloody, stinking battlefields. He works on a crew that reclaims all the spent shell casings. But if anyone found out that he was a deserter from the war, he’d be executed for heresy.

Not every man can handle a magitech gauntlet that speaks in floating silver text, or a handful of women with unique...needs. I’m not every man. When a bad blind date got worse - like, interdimensional lightning storm worse - I woke up to a realm of dragon women, magical kobolds, and a playful monkey girl with a painful secret. I also accidentally (totally on purpose) stole an ancient artifact in the form of a black gauntlet that bonded with my body and unlocked various new abilities. So what’s the catch? The glove wasn’t meant for me. It was meant for the fabled Hero of Silura.

Story
Scorpia Kaiser has always stood in Corvus's shadow until the day her older brother abandons their family to participate in a profitless war. However, becoming the heir to her mother's smuggling operation is not an easy transition for the always rebellious, usually reckless, and occasionally drunk pilot of the Fortuna, an aging cargo ship and the only home Scorpia has ever known. But when a deal turns deadly and Corvus returns from the war, Scorpia's plans to take over the family business are interrupted, and the Kaiser siblings are forced to make a choice....

I really loved the mind bending descriptions
I really enjoyed this book, it’s world building is interesting as well as how it goes about describing things is amazing. I look forward to reading the whole series.

Leaves unfinished plot
Story ends at a point which is pure fantasy
And minor story development
I do not see a second book on Amazon at this time

good, but could have been better.
took a chance with this book, while not terrible or anything, it was meh. I didn't feel as engaged as I typically get with similar books. the voice acting was pretty great, loved the different characters.
the story was a bit of a disappointment. just didn't seem to go any where and would then rocket forward from one paragraph to another. actions were not clear until they were explained in post.

Fantastic book!
A great story with excellent characters. The story takes you to highs and lows and back again. Outstanding narration as well.

Incredible writing
The author's writing is poetry in prose form. Vivid and artful. While the story was too long for my taste, it was clever and unique. The narration took the story to a whole new level; a performance that brought yet another dimension to already rich and complex characters.

Everything I need from an audiobook.
Engaging, thought-provoking, tear-jerking, exciting, endearing, I can go on and on. The best science fiction is rife with social commentary. This book does not disappoint.
I'm so invested in these characters that the cliffhanger did not bother me at all. I'm excited for the next installment.
Both the author and the narrator are new to me but I'm excited to follow both of them into other adventures.

For special boy tantrum enthusiasts
Returned the title.
Other than the tragic start of the story, everything else that happens in this book seems to be an endless cycle of "boy gets angry and throws tantrum, then regrets it". This may change in the second half of the book but I couldn't stomach the thought of pushing myself through the angsty slog to find out.
The narration, on its own, was excellent.

Quite Fun
While this book has some pacing issues, I found it to be quite intriguing. Many of the elements were original. I had such a good time.

not good
this was not suitable for Audible. The neologisms and multisyllabics and mysticism just don't come through.

Started with a promising premise, went down hill
I wanted to like this book. It started with a promising premise, and went down hill from there. Apparently no one in this universe has ever thought to arm ships. the idea is never brought up or even explained away. Despite characters using literal lasers, can't even strap one of those to the wing of a ship. there are plenty of other shortfalls I feel the story had, but despite all this, I still tried to like the book. I liked the crew and their little quirks and scars. I feel like the author would do very well if they were to team up with someone who was good at the Sci-fi ship battles and tech, and they could focus on the general story and the characters.
