Story
This is a story from the Fall of the House of Usher collection. The horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, with its dungeon of death, and the overhanging gloom on the House of Usher demonstrate unforgettably the unique imagination of Edgar Allan Poe. Unerringly, he touches upon some of our greatest nightmares: Premature burial, ghostly transformation, words from beyond the grave. Written in the 1840s, they have retained their power to shock and frighten even now.

One of the greatest masters of horror brings you 25 tales of the supernatural and the unexplained. Whether in stories of ghosts sending desperate warnings to their human counterparts, psychics attempting to bridge unknown dimensions, howling werewolves, or a robot who takes on a life of his own, Bierce plumbs the depths of fear and fascination.

Struggled to maintain interest.
This collection seemed like it would be pretty fun. I'm a big fan of older literature and horror short stories, but the only one I really enjoyed was the Body Snatcher. They were just pretty bland which is likely why they are included in this anthology. If it included in your subscription and like ghost why not though right? I really enjoyed the narrator however.

Excellent stories and narration.
This is a marvelous book which presents these classic ghost stories in a manner appropriate to the period in which they were written. The suspense and terror is not overly blunt, or obvious. Rather it is the intricacies of the dialogue and relationships . Be prepared to pay close attention to it.
Geraint Wyn Davies's narration truly brings the people in the stories alive. (Television viewers may best know Davies as "Nick Knight" the vampire Cop in this series Forever Knight.) Giving each character their own unique voice and cadence. You will quickly forget that just one person is delivering the dialogue and be drawn back in time directly into the story.

Great variety
I really enjoyed listening to several different horror stories. Each story was so different that none repeated a theme and listening to the different types of storytelling and writing was fascinating. The reader was fabulous especially with The Fall of the House of Usher.
