    'Getting lost to find yourself' stories don't often involve going to prison, unless you're award-winning comedian Angella Dravid. Love, Rock Bottom and other Triumphs is her story inspired by true events of a dorky teen who runs away from her dysfunctional family to marry her chat-room true love, almost 30 years her senior and living on the other side of the earth. BUT things get bad. Like, terrible. Yet, this is a surprisingly uplifting journey of finding yourself. Angella finds comedy in the darkest places and emerges as a warm, funny woman who has both a sharp and generous take on the systems and people who failed her.

I couldn’t stop listening!

Compelling, heartbreaking, raw, honest and funny. Angella, thank you for sharing your story here. I felt for that 17 year old girl - she has lived through a lot. Highly recommend…five stars…needs to be a TV series! Ngā mihi!

She's Getting the Last Laugh

I became acquainted with Angella Dravid through Taskmaster New Zealand. She was so delightful and fun, it is hard to believe the difficulties she endured in her youth.
Like they say in the Q&A, nowadays the results would probably be different. It is infuriating how a young girl was taken advantage of by a predatory older man, but she's made the best of it and has gotten through a stronger person.
