Short But Sweet
One of the most satisfying books in the series. Not exactly stand alone as it's not padded with a lot of background. All the familiar characters come together for a satisfying conclusion. Provides some useful incite into the current politics of the war on drugs. Narration was superb!

Wonderful, Albeit New Setting
Chief character is Bernie Manuelito, primary location is the line in the sand between Old Mexico and New Mexico. The perennial mystery of the siphoning off of billions of royalty dollars owed to tribes across the country leads to an enormous drug smuggling operation. It’s not comfortably on the Rez we are accustomed to but it illustrates Hillerman’s genius as a story-teller.

Great book!
This was well written and very interesting. I liked the characters, and the narrator did great.
I definitely recommend this book.

Light Hillerman
Relatively light Leaphorn/Chee book with good character development. The main plot is rather slight, but still a decent read.
George Guidall is excellent as always.

Love Hillerman, but narrator?
The narrator absolutely ruins this book. I fought to even finish it. Get someone different.
