Too much lecturing

Very preachy and lots of pontification about the relationship of japan and the us- got tired listening to it all

Makes Me Think About Japanese & US Relationship

A pretty good storyline overall even though the story contains pretty graphic details of a sexual murder and the F bombs are frequent, which I wish I would have known ahead of time.

Gripping

excellent character building and relationships. Great storylines keeps you hooked the whole way through. thoroughly enjoyed.

Half of our US population and the size of Montana?

Japanese insight was remarkably interesting, eye opening and disturbing. May answer why trump is President.

Superb reader

very good story although a bit old-fashioned with respect to the relationship between Japan's industry and American Business. However the reader was so exceptional accurately portraying multiple personalities without straining The Voice in a way that detracted from the story. I would call this a must-read for anyone who enjoys extremely well done theater.

Well written and narrated economic thriller! Enlightening novel centered around international business, specifically with Japan as technological rivals.

I listened to this book years ago

It is still good the second time. It provides an interesting and educational look into the relationship between the US and Japan.

It's racist! ;)

Good thing Japan's economy stagnated. The story is Ok but the author sprinkles in a bit too much about global trade implications with Japan. It comes across as contrived rather than natural discussions that occur in a story. On a side note, the moral becomes more current if you replace Japan with China.

Excellent book work excellent narration

I loved the book for both the story content and the depth of Author's knowledge about Japanese culture.
McLeod brings the characters to life. His voice has emotions and his tone makes you visualize the characters and their moods. All his voice variations for the characters were spot on, except Michelle's. It was a bit odd and was funny, sounded like a retarded kids voice.

Overall I enjoyed the book.

Compelling and thought provoking

This book makes you re-examine your beliefs on the US trade imbalance with other countries. If what Dr. Crichton posits is accurate, we in the US are being screwed by other countries, just as our controversial president claims.
