Donlea wrote another Excellent Mystery!!

The pairing of Charlie Donlea and Vivienne Leheny is by far one of the best author/narrator matches. If you haven’t read anything by Donlea this is a great place to start, all of her books are standalone. I think Leheny narrates them all beautifully. She always seems to get the author’s intended impressions or at least I believe she does.

This story begins with Sloan Hastings beginning a fellowship in forensic pathology. The second year fellow she is working under runs a genetic testing program online similar to 23 and Me. The site helps people connect with relatives they didn’t know or weren’t aware of. He convinces Sloan to try it out. She knows she’s adopted and never wanted to look for her birth parents but it might be interesting from a medical standpoint.
When Sloan’s DNA comes back as an infant who along with her extremely wealthy parents disappeared 29 years ago. The media descends but obviously she has no answers.

So good!

Mr. Donlea can sure spin a riveting tale! The only complaint is the use (again) of the Podcaster to advance the story. The first few times he used this device was fine, and integral to the story. But now, it's getting old. That minor quibble aside, this book was fantastic and thr narration was excellent!

Excellent writing. Easy to follow storyline.

I have loved all of Charlie Donlea’s previous books and saved an audible credit for this new one as soon as I learned of its upcoming release. It did not disappoint. I spent a whole day listening and I enjoyed the original storyline with twists and turns, I just couldn’t stop. Thank you Mr Donlea for a day of entertainment. I can’t wait for your next book.
