Slow and drawn out

Not horrible. Just not for me. The plot was weak and so was the character development. This was a long book about nothing, really.

That was a wild ride. I felt every emotion. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Loved it

Amazing narrators paired with a spicy, while intriguing storyline—made Lilac an easy favorite of mine. Ignore the naysayers.

I have one complaint…

Ok to start out I like this story and the characters, I enjoyed the different narrators and I got more smut than expected which is totally cool…but! After waiting 90% of the book
To figure out why it was called Lilac, the female narrator finally explains the significance of lilacs but pronounces it “lie-lock” and I can’t get past that. I thought she did a fantastic job otherwise and the overall audio book experience was great. If you’re into reverse harems with a happily ever after, a good amount of smut, and some minor bullying, this is for you.

Did not work for me.

This book had interesting characters and should have been interesting, but it was lacking . I had trouble finishing it.

Fantastic Narration

I've already read the paperback version of Lilac and I was extremely excited to hear it in audiobook form. I was not disappointed. Every single narrator did a fantastic job. They all nailed the characters and I could feel the attitudes coming through. I may have fallen a bit in love with Loren and Rich after listening to Teddy and J.F Harding read for them. Also Jillian Macie was great with bringing Braxton to life. This is honestly my second favorite audiobook after The Idea of You by Robinne Lee.

Well Rounded

Great narration 1st of all. Secondly, I think the book had good character development and I appreciate the way the “relationship” between them grew and had some complexity. I liked the personal and sexual dynamics and stem as well. While there was a good amount, I didn’t feel that it was pointless and the same over and over. There is some MM in the last 1/4 or 1/3, but I think it is well done and goes along with a MMMF…It is honestly it is pretty std for these reverse harems so I’m not sure what people who complained about it were expecting. We’ll done, checked all of the boxes for this reverse harem contemporary romance.

Oh. My. Goodness!!!

This. Book. THIS BOOK was EVERYTHING! I can no longer say I don’t read RH, but ONLY if tastefully done, (I think this is my 5th or 6th one). Thanks to actually reading a good one, starting this RH journey a few months ago, it inspired me to FINALLY read this one from one of my fav authors!
I am alarmed by how much I enjoyed this book! I am floored by how much I felt what each character felt. I am embarrassed by how much I felt FOR each character, how I rooted for them, or cursed them, or wanted to shake them. The character building was.on. Point! I fell in lust then eventually, in love with their dynamic. Each person brought something to the table. Houston: the bossy take NO crap Alpha, Loren: The Old money Princess, Jericho: the Emo tragic one & Braxton: the glue that hold them all together. I want more Bound dang it!!! I want more passion and intrigue, 🌶💦🔥, fire and steamy things.
This was more about finding yourself and learning how to love, to trust after being broken, to let go of shame and carrying burdens not your own…this book ligit, had everything. The spicy scenes were off. The. Charts spicy! Hot AF in true B.B. Reid fashion. The dramatic parts actually hurt my heart as I could relate to the religious parts (no spoiler!) I felt this novel so, it hit the spot.
I ordered this paperback yesterday before even finishing I loved it so much. (I only buy my ULTIMATE favorite physical books & this one quickly joined the ranks). It was that good. I feel I was in the right head space, also at the right time and place to really appreciate this love story.
The narrators were some of my favorites to boot! I was geeking out when I saw who was narrating! The only one I hadn’t known/experienced before was Jillian Macie and I loved her portrayal of Braxton. The boys did amazing as always!
Thank you for hitting it out of the park yet again Ms. Reid. I am in love!!!
