Historia
María, empleada doméstica de una organización benéfica protestante que acoge a mujeres con problemas, repasa con orgullo los preparativos para las festividades de Halloween en su lugar de trabajo. Revisando el programa de la noche, también espera con impaciencia su cita más tarde con la familia de un amigo, Joe Donnelly. Maria cuidó a Joe y a su hermano, Alphy, cuando eran pequeños, y ambos ayudaron a Maria a conseguir su trabajo actual. Aunque al principio María se sentía incómoda con la asociación protestante de la institución benéfica, ha acabado aceptándola y es muy querida por el personal y los residentes.
