Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Who had left this in my mailbox? The attached note echoed the same puzzling message I had received the day before in a text: Who’s lying? Why send this thick journal to me? What was the motive? It didn’t matter, did it? Nosy as all get out, I untied the strap, to reveal a neatly penned old-school manuscript that began to chronicle a decades-old mystery, a cold case that was never solved, called Shadows of Doubt. It was filled with innuendo and suspicions from unnamed sources, mysterious characters, and an undeniable sense of foreboding that leapt off the pages as this anonymous author ...

Story
A FOREST DARK is the terrifying story of former federal government subcontractor Samuel Thomas Johnson. Sam worked for the FBI (1973-1997) as a video crime scene analyst as well as for NASA (1982-1989) as a photographic consultant and analyst. His top level clearance for the FBI afforded him an opportunity to deconstruct unexplained anomalies in capital crime scenes caught on security and CCTV cameras. His work at NASA was also considered top clearance and highly sensitive. Because of the nature of the work he performed, both at the FBI and NASA, he is writing under a pseudonym. After ...

Not well written.
While most people are giving bad reviews because of the computerized voice, that is not a problem to me. I find real people often incorrectly dramatize things and it gets pretty annoying. A computer voice let's you interpret the book without the narrator injectionng bias. Unfortunately, the writing is sophomoric. Not interesting at all. I would recommend passing on this one.

Couldn’t get past first few chapters
I cannot comment on the story sadly because I just couldn’t stand to listen to the computer generated narrator! I am disappointed in that. Maybe I will actually read the book instead.
