When she stumbles upon a diary that suggests she's descended from magicians, she's skeptical. After all, magicians are special, and she's just an ordinary woman who loves books. Historia
Nancy Wake, nicknamed 'the white mouse' for her ability to evade capture, tells her own story. As the Gestapo's most wanted person, and one of the most highly decorated servicewomen of the war, it's a story worth telling. After living and working in Paris in the 1930's, Nancy married a wealthy Frenchman and settled in Marseilles. Her idyllic new life was ended by World War II and the invasion of France. Her life shattered, Nancy joined the French Resistance and, later, began work with an escape-route network for Allied soldiers.

Resumen del Editor
From the best-selling author of The Alice Network
On the icy edge of Soviet Russia, bold and reckless Nina Markova joins the infamous Night Witches - an all-female bomber regiment - wreaking havoc on Hitler’s Eastern Front. But when she is downed behind enemy lines and thrown across the path of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, Nina must use all her wits to survive.
British war correspondent Ian Graham has witnessed the horrors of war from Omaha Beach to the Nuremburg Trials. He abandons journalism after the war to become a Nazi hunter, yet one target eludes him: the Huntress. Fierce, disciplined Ian must join forces with reckless, cocksure Nina, the only witness to escape the Huntress alive.
In post-war Boston, 17-year-old Jordan McBride is delighted when her long-widowed father brings home a fiancée. But Jordan grows increasingly disquieted by the soft-spoken German widow who seems to be hiding something. Delving into her new stepmother’s past, Jordan slowly realizes that a Nazi killer may be hiding in plain sight.
Shining a light on a shadowy corner of history, The Huntress is an epic, sweeping Second World War novel from the New York Times best-selling author of The Alice Network.
Reseñas de la Crítica

"Immersive and suspenseful...packs a real historical punch. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Great mystery. Sexually graphic.

Loved this book
18 hours of blissful listening. I don’t generally review books unless I love them or really dislike them. Parts were a bit silly but not enough to destroy my enjoyment. The female characters were wonderful. The ending was predictable, love an epilogue when the novel is a standalone.

Loved it
I really loved this book. I’ve read a few Kate Quinn novels now and this is my favorite. Nice pace and it kept me very interested as to ‘what happens next?!’.
Excellent performance. Again, nice pace and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another excellent Kate Quinn novel
It took me some time to get into this novel but it had a strong story and finish. I still think The Alice Network is Quinn's best novel but this is a good read none the less.

Not what I expect from Ms Quinn
Screams of pressure from the publisher - Kate Quinn is capable of so much more.

Had to return it
A bit too 'on the nose' and not tied together well enough. Show me don't tell me
