Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

In the tradition of Princess Bride & Stardust...
Peter S. Beagle gives us another wonderful work of fantasy! Full of twists and turns... this tale plays with various fantasy tropes, and turns many on their heads. I only wish it was longer. I'd love to play more in this world. 💖

a wonderfully fun story
it took me a few chapters to really get into the.swing of the book but once the adventure hit I couldn't stop listening. Such a fun story that had me constantly wanting to know what will happen next.

It’s an engaging story with great characters!
It started out whimsical and sometimes funny, tongue in cheek and then got a bit dark. But the story was compelling and I really enjoyed the narrator. I would recommend listening!

amusing twist on dragon slayers
Enjoyed the humor of the writing even though the narrator didn't pull off the timing. I think I would like to read the story in about a year. The narrator wasn't awful, he just didn't spin the tale. The story has no sex scenes. I will recommend the book to friends, but insist they read not listen.
