Of all the Emperor’s sons who fell to Chaos, it is perhaps Magnus the Red whose tale is the most tragic. Sanctioned because of his desire for knowledge, chastised, judged, and shattered to his very elements – there is much for the Crimson King to feel vengeful for. Yet revenge is not the only thing that draws him to Terra alongside the Warmaster’s besieging armies. He seeks something, a fragment, the missing piece of himself that lies within the most impregnable place on the planet – the inner sanctum of the Imperial Palace.

From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife. From his apotheosis to Scout, to the hive cities of Armageddon and the alien menace of the Cryptus system, Dante has waged war against all the enemies of the Imperium. Publisher's summary
Book 3 of the Legend of Sigmar
Sigmar's empire is united. He has defeated the greenskins, thwarted a Chaos invasion and peace beckons – until an old power returns in the distant south, one that would claim Sigmar's empire as his own. Nagash returns…
LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
Of all Sigmar's mighty deeds, his vanquishing of Nagash is perhaps the greatest. And here, Graham McNeill tells the whole story of the first necromancer's invasion of Sigmar's new empire, and the beginning of the antipathy between them (which is all the more relevant now that they are gods in the Age of Sigmar…)
THE STORY
Sigmar, the first Emperor, is a god amongst men, a peerless leader and an unbreakable warrior. Having defeated the Chaos invasion of Middenheim, the Empire knows a measure of peace. But in the vast deserts of Nehekhara, another empire is rising. Nagash, the most feared of necromancers, is determined to claim dominance over the Old World, crushing all before him with an unstoppable and nightmarish army. Legions of unnatural creatures swarm the Empire. Sigmar must defend the lands of the living from the hordes of the dead and prevent Nagash's terrible vision of power coming true.

In the bleak, haunted underworld of Shyish, a vengeful Slayer seeks the Lord of Undeath. Gotrek Gurnisson returns, his oaths now ashes alongside the world-that-was, his fury undiminished. Branded with the Master Rune of Grimnir, the God that betrayed him, and joined by Maleneth Witchblade, a former Daughter of Khaine turned agent of the Order of Azyr, the hunt has taken them far and wide through the Realm of Death. Will Gotrek find a path to the Undying King or will the underworlds claim him as their own?

Story
It is said that all who live belong ultimately to the Undying King. In the shadowy lands of Shyish, Nagash, God of Death, calls forth his soulless legions to reassert his dominion. His dread advance begins with the free city of Glymmsforge, bastion of Azyr in the Realm of Death. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. As battles between the living and the dead rage throughout the Mortal Realms, the War of Heaven and Death begins anew.

why is only the 3rd book available?
feels a bit odd that only the final book of a trilogy is available on audible. I would love to have the full context need to appreciate the events in this book.

More Please!
These Old-World novels are great fun in the audiobook format. I hope more of them get redone!
You'll get a lot of Conan the Barbarian vibes from this specific series of books as well, though 1 and 2 have yet to be released on audible. Looking forward to when they become available!
