In the beginning there was the Namsara: the child of sky and spirit who carried love and laughter wherever he went. Nineteen-year-old Signa Farrow, orphaned as a baby, has been raised by a string of guardians, each more interested in her wealth than her well-being—and each has met an untimely end. Charlie Hall has never found a lock she couldn’t pick, a book she couldn’t steal, or a bad decision she wouldn’t make. She's spent half her life working for gloamists, magicians who manipulate shadows to peer into locked rooms, strangle people in their beds, or worse. Gloamists guard their secrets greedily, creating an underground economy of grimoires. And to rob their fellow magicians, they need Charlie Hall.

The crown prince, Kamran, has heard the prophecies foretelling the death of his king. Vanja Schmidt knows no gift is freely given, not even a mother’s love. Abandoned to Death and Fortune as a child, she has scraped by as a lowly maidservant with her quick wits and the ability to see her godmothers’ hands at work in the world. But when they demand her lifelong servitude in exchange, Vanja decides that gifts not given freely...can always be stolen. A wicked retelling of “The Goose Girl", Little Thieves is a delightfully witty YA fantasy about the fickle hands of fate, and changing the cards we’re dealt.

Publisher's summary
"Edgewood has everything I love in a Kristen Ciccarelli book: lyrical prose, a romance that will hurt, and themes rooted in raw and intimate questions, making for a timeless tale." (Joan He, New York Times best-selling author of The Ones We're Meant to Find)
Can love survive the dark?
No matter how far she runs, the forest of Edgewood always comes for Emeline Lark. The scent of damp earth curls into her nose when she sings and moss creeps across the stage. It’s as if the woods of her childhood, shrouded in folklore and tall tales, are trying to reclaim her. But Emeline has no patience for silly superstitions.
When her grandfather disappears, leaving only a mysterious orb in his wake, the stories Emeline has always scoffed at suddenly seem less foolish. She enters the forest she has spent years trying to escape, only to have Hawthorne Fell, a handsome and brooding tithe collector, try to dissuade her from searching.
Refusing to be deterred, Emeline finds herself drawn to the court of the fabled Wood King himself. She makes a deal - her voice for her grandfather’s freedom. Little does she know, she’s stumbled into the middle of a curse much bigger than herself, one that threatens the existence of this eerie world she’s trapped in, along with the devastating boy who feels so familiar.
With the help of Hawthorne - an enemy turned reluctant ally who she grows closer to each day - Emeline sets out to not only save her grandfather’s life, but to right past wrongs and in the process, discover her true voice.
Haunting and romantic, Kristen Ciccarelli's Edgewood is an exciting novel from a bold, unforgettable voice in fantasy.
"Darkly gorgeous and moving, Edgewood is full of curses and fae magic that will capture your heart and wrap it in thorns before setting you free again, forever changed. I devoured Edgewood whole and couldn't put it down." (Evelyn Skye, New York Times best-selling author of The Crown's Game)

Was unsure after reading the description but instantly hooked
I added this to my wishlist after seeing it on Instagram and then almost deleted it bc I wasn’t blown away by the description or the sample, but I’m glad I gave it a chance.
It’s about a hidden magical world with elements that remind me of several different stories and fairy tales and a FMC who’s spunky but also naive and believable. I personally prefer my MMC with a little more snark but this one was sweet while still being imperfect.

Fantastic Beyond Belief
Once in a blue moon, you stumble upon a book that captures your heart in its entirety. A book that you love with such force, you can hardly put your emotions into words. Edgewood was such a book for me. Hawthorne and Emeline's story has taken root in my chest; I haven't been able to stop thinking about this one since I finished it a few days ago, and I know Edgewood will stick with me for quite some time. The only thing keeping it from being a -perfect- read is that I wanted just a tiny bit more dimension from the protagonist, but her love for her grandfather and her struggle of wanting to be there for him without sacrificing her own happiness really resonates. This is a story of loss, healing, and love in it's many forms, and I can't recommend it enough.

Mediocre compared to her others
I listened to all of her other books first and was amazed by her story telling, this must of been her first published book because all of her other books are so well told. I liked the idea of this one but it doesn’t hit as hard as her others.

Extremely disappointed!
I loved previous works by this author. In fact recommended her to friends but after reading this book I changed my recommendation. I loved the narration, the stories and the character but was disgusted that the author felt that she needed to put foul language and teen sex scenes in the book. I am disappointed in Audible as well that there is not better warnings or descriptions that help protect teens and adults against having this type pf content in books so to better know and be able to choose against being exposed unknowingly. I am not naïve enough to know that this type of content is all over literature but why can't we have ratings and content warnings?? People can read what they want, yes. And this type of content may not bother some people but what is wrong with letting people know so they can make educated decisions instead of being surprised. Help us protect our teens and ourselves a little better!!!!
